Congratulations to each of our Achieving Higher award recipients for October 2026. This peer-nominated award recognizes individuals for their exemplary effort to do more than what is expected in service of their colleagues and our students.
Our first recipient this month is Katie McKinnon - Ogden High School Teacher
"Katie knows that feeling secure and cared for is an important part of students being ready to learn. She brings that same sense of care and belonging to our ESL Endorsement courses, where she serves as a mentor. Whether she is working with high school students or adult educators, Katie consistently notices what people need and finds ways to meet those needs with compassion and generosity. She creates spaces where people know they are supported, where they can be themselves, and where they feel encouraged to succeed."
